FAQ
-
What does "Dispersed" camping mean?
Dispersed sites are not in developed campgrounds, so they don’t offer services such as toilets, garbage cans, water, etc. The benefit is the solitude and primitive experience away from other campers. We always prefer camping this way!
-
Dirt Roads? Do I need 4x4?
No! We don’t have four-wheel drive in our van, so we’re not getting that gnarly. However we might not recommend you do these in a vehicle with super low clearance.
-
How do you cook food?
We have a small propane stove. And if we’re somewhere we can make a fire, we’ll cook over that. Tinfoil dinners are a favorite!
-
Do the campsites have bathrooms?
Unless you’re camping at an actual campground, the answer is no. We keep a little shovel in the van and make sure to bury what we leave.

What format is the route kit?
It’s a downloadable PDF–this allows you to view it when you're off-grid without cell service or Wi-Fi.
